Like you, I’m sure, we’re glad 2009 is coming to a close and we look forward with great optimism to 2010.

Now that I’m into my sixth month at Starmark, I thought I’d introduce you to our agency and the talented integrated team I’m now part of. As we propel forward into 2010, I’d like to share this newsletter as part of our efforts to keep you aware of who we are and what our talented teams are up to. We’ll also showcase the client brand work we’re doing — from strategy and conception, to execution across all consumer intersections (especially digital).

The Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB Tests the Waters with Snap Tags in Ads.

CVB Snap Tag ad Our team loves the opportunity to bring fresh marketing innovations to our clients, to give them the opportunity to be on the forefront of something cool. And whether you call it a snap tag, scan tag, mobile tag, MS tag or QR tag, this technology is definitely cool.

As agency of record for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, Starmark was able to “wow” the client with the possibilities scan tags can provide. Select ads from the 2010 Greater Fort Lauderdale campaign will now feature a snap tag, which is a small graphic square resembling a colorful bar code.

AccuData Flaunts Its Brainpower at DMA09 in San Diego.

With a chrome sheen and glowing blue streams of intellectual power flowing throughout, the presence of a brain attracted lots of attention from attendees at the DMA09 Show in San Diego. Somehow, it also managed to tweet on Twitter, collecting a fan base that even included Scott Monty, head of Social Media for Ford Motor Company.

“The Brain” is the star of a new marketing campaign Starmark created for client AccuData Integrated Marketing, a leading database marketing services company. As the brain was suspended over AccuData’s booth, visitors were treated to fun giveaways, like World Tour t-shirts with slogans such as “Does This Shirt Make My Brain Look Big?”

Winterfest ‘09

Fort Lauderdale’s annual Winterfest celebration is best known for one thing:  it’s one-of-a-kind boat parade. In its 38th year, the parade has been tagged the “Greatest Show on H2O” and “The World’s Most Watched Boat Parade” and – for good reason. Comprised of over 100 festively decorated boats, this illuminated armada leisurely makes its way up 12 miles of Fort Lauderdale intracoastal waterway, entertaining over one million spectators plus millions more via television. As always, it is a great way to celebrate the season with friends, family and associates.

Greater Fort Lauderdale and Starmark Win Three Flagler Awards

FLLCVB Flagler AwardThis summer, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) and Starmark took home three 2009 Flagler Awards, given out at the 42nd Annual Governors Conference on Tourism. The GFLCVB’s Vacation Planner, out-of-home advertising on the Long Island Expressway and post-election ad were all winners.
