Starmarkers Voluntarily Pledge to Reduce Carbon Footprint in Honor of Earth Day

Cause

One hundred percent of Starmark International employees pledged to reduce either their individual carbon footprint or the carbon footprint of their entire family in honor of Earth Day.

Each employee calculated their carbon footprint by visiting http://green.yahoo.com/calculator/ and answering a few simple questions. Then, they clicked on “Make a Plan” at and pledged to reduce their carbon footprint by committing to a few small changes.

It’s amazing how big an impact little changes make. Here at the office we use a filtered water system instead of bottled water and ceramic coffee cups instead of disposable cups,” said Peggy Nordeen, chief executive officer of Starmark International. “I’m incredibly proud that each of our employees voluntarily took the Starmark Green Pledge. It’s important to create a sustainable environment for future generations.”

According to the green calculator on Yahoo!, the average American’s carbon footprint is 9.44. After taking the pledge, the employees have committed to reducing their carbon footprint by a combined total of 40.35 tons of CO2.
