Get the Word Out … Visually with Google Adwords Image Extensions

Images have become the currency of the web – just look at the rise of Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook’s Rich Stories. Now, Google is getting into the act with a beta of Image Extensions for AdWords. With Google’s newly released version of Image Extensions, advertisers are able to display relevant images to go with text ads.

Product image ads used to be the only way to include image content in AdWords ads. Now, advertisers can take advantage of a much wider range of image options. For example, hotels and destinations can include pictures of their resort or landmarks. Experts believe that an image is more likely to appear when Google determines a searcher’s intent is to find visual content.

Advertisers will need to possess the rights to any picture used in an ad, and submit their images to Google for review.
