The Super Bowl’s In Town – And We’re Rooting For Greater Fort Lauderdale

While most football fans are fixated on the Saints vs. the Colts, at Starmark, we’re huge fans of our client the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB). With the Super Bowl coming to South Florida, they’re very big winners.

Broward County, home to Greater Fort Lauderdale, is expected to receive an estimated economic boom of $350 million due to the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl. President of the GFLCVB, Nicki Grossman believes Broward County’s biggest coup was getting the media center moved to the Broward County Convention Center from the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The estimated 3,500 media members booked a bevy of rooms near the waterfront Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. Thanks to the destination’s addition of 3,200 hotel rooms, including 13 hotels within the Lauderdale Luxe Collection – as well as thousands of diverse dining options – a stay in Greater Fort Lauderdale is more enticing than ever…for the media, the fans and the players.

In fact, the Indianapolis Colts are staying at a beachfront Broward County hotel. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you which one!
